Technology and Human Touch
You have found a great place to build a website. Perhaps you have uploaded your pictures and priced your products. You may be asking yourself, "now what"?
The internet has changed greatly since I first got online in 1996. Back then I was one of a very few who sold handcrafted items online. When I first started selling on ebay I sold items about as quickly as I could list them. I was even there when Paypal started up and made online payments quick and easy. I was tickled when they made a statement in an email that they would not be gobbled up by the Ebay Monster. LOL
Here we are several years down the road and guess who Paypal belongs to? You got it.. Ebay.
The first Delphi and Yahoo groups I started years ago are still up and running. I made some really great friends and shared a great deal about my life with these people. We even exchanged phone numbers and gifts during the holidays. There were no scams, phishing or exploiting of our infomation.
I have watched the changes on the internet, and like the changes in my business and personal life, rolled with them. I have learned from them great lessons about myself and my resistance to change. I am much better at rolling with the punches than when the change first started. I hung on doing things the same way I always had and watching them not be very productive.
Now we come to blogging. This is a good change. It gives us a chance to share with our customers on a person to person level. We really need this personal touch as most of us are frustrated by calling a phone number and doing the loop round a round of if you wish to do this, push a number. I have held my head and yelled.. " I just want to talk to a human being" on more than one occassion.
My take on my business is friendly. I desire to know those who purchase my creations. I create from a place of spiritual insight, a place of learning and sometimes these lessons are harder than others. I am not a Master living in the mountains, but a Master in training, living with my child, pets and sharing what I learn with others.
I don't come close to "knowing it all", but I do know more today at 50 than ever before. I choose to reach out to my customers. I am interested in them and their lives. Many of my creations come from conversations with real people living real lives.
I hear a song now and again that says" I just want some touch".
With all the computers.. which I dearly enjoy.. we are leaving out a very important part of our life experience.. touching one another. We crave a human hug, kiss, pat on the back and listening ear. I hope to touch your life with my creations. My desire is to let you feel the joy I experience in using stones and crystals to create a piece of jewelry which brings a healing or comforting property into your life.
My dolls are created to bring magic into your life. My hope is that the energy comes together in such a way that you are inspired to open yourself to more joy, more love and more fun. I create from where I am.. where I have been and where I hope to walk. May you be blessed by my blessings.
